Hello!

Welcome to fifth grade from your Fort Riley Elementary team! Our fifth grade is departmentalized which means each fifth-grade teacher specializes in a different core subject and students move to different classrooms throughout the day. Fifth grade is filled with a lot of fun activities throughout the year. In Social Studies, students will learn about American history. This includes the study of Native American tribes, Colonial America, and all the way through the American Revolution.  Science will explore many different areas including mixtures and solutions, Earth and Sun, and living systems. In reading we will study poetry and hold our annual poetry night. Finally, in math, we will conquer decimals and fractions, along with multiplying and dividing by muti-digit numbers. We look forward to meeting you and welcoming you to the Buffalo family.
